Prominent El Granada Fisherman Arrested

Accused of possessing crystal meth, he vows to fight the charges.

A commercial fisherman whose name appears in nearly every fishing story published by Half Moon Bay Patch has been arrested.  Duncan MacLean, 62, is suspected of crystal methamphetamine possession, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

MacLean was taken into custody early Friday morning in a parking lot at Pillar Point Harbor.

In a report published Tuesday in the San Mateo County Times, MacLean said that he will fight the charges.

The report goes on to say that MacLean is nearing an agreement to lease a fishing boat after his vessel, the Barbara Faye, ran aground in Point Reyes National Seashore in May.
