Police: Stabbing of Pacifica Man in San Mateo 'Not a Random Act'

Authorities ask public's help in solving the June 7 murder near All American Self Storage.

San Mateo police say they have “put several pieces of the puzzle together” in the case of a stabbing death near All American Self Storage on E. 3rd Street in San Mateo, but they are still asking for the public’s help in order to pursue further leads.

Police say , 33, was stabbed to death on June 7 and his body left near the storage facility at 2000 E. 3rd Ave.

In a statement released yesterday, police said they know that “one of the parties involved in this case had a storage unit at All American, and the purpose of their presence on site was related to the storage unit.” They did not specify if the unit in question was being rented by Lockwood, a suspect or someone else.

No suspects have been named in the case so far. Some unconfirmed reports have indicated a love triangle may have been the cause of the stabbing.

Police say current evidence includes video footage, which “detectives are still reviewing and evaluating.” They also believe this was not a random act of violence, nor was Lockwood targeted in an act of premeditated murder.
