Police Release Sketch of Sexual Assault Suspect

The man allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed a San Carlos woman while she was on her way to work.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, San Carlos Bureau, have released a sketch of the man accused of robbing and sexually assaulting a woman Wednesday morning on her way to work.

On Wednesday, San Carlos Patch reported that a San Carlos woman, unnamed by police, was attacked at 6:30 a.m. by a 6'5", 300-pound man in his thirties. It was just after 6:30 a.m., and she arrived at the building where she works, along the 1600 block of Laurel Street, and tried to enter through the backdoor, down an alley between Laurel and Walnut.

The white male allegedly grabbed her from behind. He told her he had a knife, and though she never saw the knife during the ordeal, he threatened to use it if she didn't deactivate the alarm. He wore a black San Francisco Giants baseball cap, a dark sweat shirt and blue jeans. She described him to police as being in his thirties with blue eyes.

She did as he said, and he allegedly forced his way into the building and tried to remove and article of her clothing, police said.

Police said the alarm to the business then sounded and frightened the male from the scene. He allegedly stole the female's purse before he ran off.

Sheriff's Office Deputies along with Redwood City Police units conducted an extensive area search, but were unable to locate the suspect male.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is conducting a comprehensive investigation into this case in an attempt to identify the male suspect. Anyone with information in the case can contact Sergeant Andy Armando (650) 363-4347.
