Police Blotter: Three Loose Pit Bulls Approach Pier in Midday Incident; Burglary Interrupted

Wednesday, July 18
12:00 p.m., Crespi Drive: Security cameras were stolen Monday morning.
6:35 p.m., Sunshine Drive: Two women wearing black business suits saying they’re collecting money owed to AT&T went to the home of a non-subscriber and appeared to be going door to door.

8:15 p.m., Linda Mar Center: A male stole items valued at an estimated $800 from a store he's reportedly burglarized on previous occasions. The burglar was captured on video.

Thursday, July 19
2:06 a.m., Cabrillo Highway: A motorist who almost hit a guardrail was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The suspect was not identified in the police incident report.
6:08 a.m., Palmetto Avenue: A work truck was broken into in what appeared to be botched attempt to steal the vehicle. Nothing was reported missing from the truck.
6:10 a.m., Connemara Drive: Police made an arrest after four high school kids reportedly loitering in a truck threw a water bottle on the street. The suspect was not identified in the police incident report.
7:56 a.m., Cragmont Court: Unspecified items were stolen from a vehicle in an overnight burglary.
9:29 a.m., Fontierland Park on Yosemite Drive: Vandals smashed in windows of construction equipment in an overnight incident.
11:28 a.m., Reina Del Mar Avenue: Unspecified items were stolen in a vehicle burglary.
11:47 a.m., Salada Avenue and Palmetto Avenue: Police received a report of three pit bulls running loose toward the pier. The case was referred to the SPCA.
4:15 p.m., Skyline Boulevard: A vehicle owner chased a burglar they spotted in their car. The burglar, who didn't take anything from the car, was captured on video.
4:46 p.m., Esplanade Avenue: A woman who appeared to be intoxicated was reportedly in the middle of the roadway trying to wave down passing cars.
