Police Blotter: Stolen Squash and Dumping Duo

A run-down of recent crime and police activity in Pacifica

Oct. 12 - 2:54p.m. Theft of an Xbox video game console was reported to Pacifica Police. The reporting party alleged that his mother's boyfriend stole the Xbox. Police contacted the man who admitted committing the theft "because he needed the money." 7:23p.m. Two persons, a man in his 20s and woman in her 50s, were reportedly panhandling in front of Safeway supermarket at Linda Mar Center. 9:34p.m. A robbery and assault was reported at 500 Old County Road, the surfers' lot at Rockaway Beach. The victim said he was sitting in his parked vehicle when three subjects attacked him, one saying they had a gun, and robbed the victim of his wallet.

Oct. 13 - 8:28a.m. A brown pitbull was reportedly loose on the 900 block of Rio Vista Drive without an owner present. The reporting party said the dog was "acting aggressive" and had chased a man down the street.

Oct. 14 - 3:14p.m. Dumping Duo. A dumping complained was filed by a resident who reportedly witnessed two men dump six "huge" garbage bags at the rear of Safeway supermarket in Manor Plaza. The two unidentified subjects then left the area by vehicle according to the report.

Oct. 15 - 4:20p.m. A woman reported she had gone to an ex-boyfriend's house on the 100 block of Reina Del Mar to collect belongings she had left there. She alleged that the man then got physical with her causing injury to her hand. 9:21p.m. A resident of the 200 block of Hillside Drive reported hearing illegal M-80 fireworks going off in the area nearby. 11:59p.m. A driver was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) nearby Milagra Drive and Oceana Boulevard.

Oct. 16 - 12:37a.m. A third party reported witnessing a man beating a female at the levee near Sharp Park Golf Course. 12:17p.m. A man reported that a group of juveniles threw something at his vehicle nearby the intersection of Roberts Road and Fassler Avenue. Upon confronting them, one of the juveniles threatened "We'll F(explicative) you up, old man." The victim alleged that another juvenile in the group also pulled a bat on him. 1:28p.m. A loitering disturbance was reported to police regarding a panhandler sitting in front of Safeway supermarket at Linda Mar Center. 2:58p.m. Two subjects soliciting money from passersby in front of Safeway supermarket at Manor Plaza were asked to leave the area. The two persons refused to leave and the grocery store manager reported the incident to police.

Oct. 17 - 10:18a.m. A public works employee reported damage to turf nearby Pacifica Spindrift Players' venue. An unknown subject had allegedly drove "all over" and damaged the turf overnight. 12:53p.m. Stolen Squash. A resident of the 700 block of Crespi Drive said that two pumpkins were stolen from the front of the home overnight. 1:55p.m. A resident in the area nearby Santa Rosa and Palmetto avenues reported that the driver of a black, 70's muscle car with a SF Giants logo on it had burned out in the street and was causing a disturbance in the area by continuously revving the vehicle's engine. 2:13p.m. A passerby reported that a group of juveniles waiting at the bus stop in front of Terra Nova High School were throwing rocks at homes in the area.


Oct. 18 - 10:04a.m. A transient was reported to police for causing a disturbance at the Metro PCS store in Linda Mar Center. The man was allegedly loitering in the store and yelling at employees. 2:11p.m. A report was called in to police regarding a woman who was allegedly hitting her daughter in the street on the 600 block of Montezuma Drive. An arrest was made. 4:12p.m. A black pitbull without a collar and without an owner present was seen in the street on the 1000 block of Zamora Drive. The reporting party was afraid to leave her vehicle with the dog loose. SPCA was notified.
