Police Blotter: Doorbell Ditch, Suspicious Hitchhiker and a Getaway Crash

A rundown of recent crime and police activity in Pacifica

May 4 - 9:08p.m. Doorbell ditch. About eight juveniles were reportedly "playing doorbell ditch" and knocking over garbage cans in the neighborhood surrounding Carmel Avenue and Pico Terrace

May 5 - 9:05p.m. An unknown female was reported to Pacifica Police for vandalism to the Fairmont Center Luckys supermarket. The woman had apparently gotten upset after a store clerk asked her for ID to purchase alcohol. She was denied the sale and broke several planters outside of the storefront.

May 6 - Getaway crash. An officer initiated a traffic stop on the 1600 block of Rosita Road, as a blue Acura with an expired registration was seen on the road. The driver, later identified as Richard Kramer of South San Francisco, fled from the officer. Driving recklessly and without headlights, Kramer crashed into a parked truck and sustained lacerations to the head, a broken femur and arm. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

May 7 - 5:31a.m. Suspicious hitch-hiker. An unknown male, described to be about 20-years-old, was reported to Pacifica Police. He was allegedly asking patrons of the Shell has station at Fairmont Plaza for a ride and offering drivers cash. 12:40p.m. An elderly driver reportedly drove into two wooden posts at the intersection of college and sharp park roads.

May 8 - 2:20a.m. An unknown suspect broke into a vehicle on the 400 block of Gateway Drive and removed personal items belonging to the vehicle owner. 7:15p.m. An officer on patrol reported that the Samtrans bus shelter at Eureka Shopping Center had been vandalized with purple spray paint. The grafitti read "PI" and some illegible characters. 10:30p.m. Two emploees of Ross at Linda Mar Center were held at gunpoint by an unknown suspect in the shopping center parking lot. The man, described as 5'10" and African American, demanded the two victims allow him access to a store safe. The man fled when the Ross employees convinced him they did not have access to said safe.

May 9 - 12:30p.m. A resident of the 400 block of Johnson Avenue reported that his window had been broken by a thrown rock. The man suspected students of Ocean Shore School for the vandalism. The school's principal is aware of the ongoing issue.

May 10 - 9:45a.m. A patron of Valero at on Linda Mar reported a hit and run incident. While parked at the station another driver hit the victim's vehicle door and drove off after being shown the damage.
