Police Blotter: Burglaries and a Parking Lot Bonfire

A rundown of recent crime and police activity in Pacifica.

Sept. 21 - 10:20a.m. Burglaraized Renovation. A resident of the 200 block of Avalon Drive reported that two men had stolen building materials from a home under construction. The victim's contractor provided a desciption of the two men and alleged that the suspects told him they were taking the materials for scrap metal recycling. 3p.m. An unknown suspect burglarized a home on the 200 block of Berendos Avenue. The thief allegedly gained entry to the residence through an unsecured bathroom window and stole cash, jewelry and a silver Smith & Wesson revolver. The victim was away from the property at the time of the theft. 5:38p.m. A resident of the 900 block of Rio Vista Drive reported his son's bicycle stolen. The boy had reportedly left his bike in the front lawn of the family's home overnight, and noticed it was gone by morning the following day.

Sept. 22 - 7p.m. A burglary report was filed regarding a home on the 1600 block of Higgins Way. The home owner reported that suitcases, credit cards and a guitar estimated in total to be worth about $5,800. The victim was away from the residence at the time.  

Sept. 23 - 8:35a.m. An abandoned vehicle was reported at the 1300 block of Solano Drive.

Sept. 24 - 1:36a.m. Parking lot bonfire. A disturbance report was filed against 10 persons who allegedly started a bonfire in the parking lot at . The party was reportedly drinking alcohol. 9:25p.m. A stray "friendly" (according to the report) pitbull was sighted in front of a residence at the 800 block of Big Bend Drive. Animal control was notified.

Sept 25 - 3:48p.m. A report was filed that a loose pitbull was walking around the 700 block of Noriega Way. The reporting party stated that the dog belonged to a neighbor, and this has been an ongoing issue. 5:08p.m. A possible live wire on the dirt walking trail at Cabrillo Highway just before San Pedro Avenue was reported to police.

Sept. 26 - 11:12a.m. A passerby reported witnessing an elderly woman urinating in the street on the 100 block of Esplanade Avenue. 2:31p.m. A group of juveniles was allegedly engaged in a physical fight behind Park Mall at the 1000 block of Terra Nova Boulevard. The reporting party only heard the fight, and juveniles cheering. When police responded to the incident the group had dispersed.

Sept. 27 - 5:26p.m. A residence on the 100 block of Verona Avenue was reportedly burglarized. The home owner was away from the property when an unknown suspect was believed to have gained entry and stole a Toshiba laptop, shoes and 30 methadone pills. 6:23p.m. A passerby on the 600 block of Edgemar Avenue reported having been bitten by an unknown dog.
