Man reported missing at 3 p.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a paddle boarder who failed to return to shore this afternoon near Half Moon Bay.

Rodrigo Ruiz was paddle boarding in the area of Pillar Point Harbor today, and was due to return around 12:30 p.m. He was reported overdue at 3 p.m.

The Coast Guard launched a search from the water and air, while rescue crews from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, Pillar Point Harbor and California State Parks search the beaches and surrounding areas.

Anyone with information on Ruiz' location or additional contact information for him should notify the Coast Guard or their local law enforcement agency.

Ruiz is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches and weighing 130 pounds. He has short, brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray wet suit.
