Pacifica Restaurant Damaged in Kitchen Fire

Firefighters with hose lines were able to quickly contain the flames and extinguish the fire.

Thursday at 4:15 p.m. six fire companies, two chief officers and one fire investigator responded to a commercial business structure fire at 455 Oceana Blvd., in Pacifica, the address for Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill.

The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the rear of the restaurant as well as through the roof exhaust system.

Firefighters quickly responded and made entry into the rear of the restaurant, utilizing hose lines to extinguish the fire and contain the flames to the kitchen area, according to North County Fire Authority officials.

However, due to fire damage and smoke within the business, the restaurant is forced to temporarily shut down.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind businesses of the importance of properly operating and maintained fire suppression systems, in protecting and minimizing damage to the effected building, as well as to adjoining properties.
