The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the rear of the restaurant as well as through the roof exhaust system.
Firefighters quickly responded and made entry into the rear of the restaurant, utilizing hose lines to extinguish the fire and contain the flames to the kitchen area, according to North County Fire Authority officials.
All customers and employees within the restaurant safely evacuated.
Fire companies remained on scene for approximately two hours checking for further extension of the fire, completing overhaul operations and providing assistance to the business.
There were no injuries to civilians, employees or firefighters.
However, due to fire damage and smoke within the business, the restaurant is forced to temporarily shut down.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind businesses of the importance of properly operating and maintained fire suppression systems, in protecting and minimizing damage to the effected building, as well as to adjoining properties.
