Pacifica Police Explorers Bring Home a Trophy

Five Pacifica Police Explorers recently returned from the Central Coast Explorer Challenge held in Paso Robles, Calif., bringing home with them a first place trophy for their performance during the shooting skills phase.

The Central Coast Challenge was attended by 600 explorers from as far away as Las Vegas to Redding, Calif., Sept. 20-22. Each year, explorers attend “challenges” like the recent Central Coast Challenge that are designed to test their knowledge and skills in different areas related to a law enforcement career.

The Pacifica Police Explorer post represented the Pacifica Police department and the Pacifica community as they performed their challenge events.

The Police Explorer program is a real-world career experience that provides youth between the ages of 14 (who have graduated the 8th grade) and 21 the opportunity to participate in activities related to law enforcement. Explorers also participate in community service related events within the city.

Honorable mention for this event goes to Explorers Remy Loubriel and Brandon Smith. During the competition, Explorers Loubriel and Smith were awarded a first place trophy for their performance during the shooting skills phase. The Pacifica Police Department is proud of this accomplishment, as well as of the performance of all of our explorers that attended this event.

The Pacifica Police Department is currently accepting applications from those interested in becoming part of the Pacifica Police Exploring program. If interested, please contact Corporal Steve Asnault at 650-738-7314.
