Pacifica Man Arrested for Selling Methamphetamine, Child Endangerment

The arrest was made Wednesday morning at a residence on Serena Drive in Pacifica.

A Pacifica man allegedly selling methamphetamine from his home with four, young school aged children in the house was arrested Wednesday morning.

At approximately 7 a.m. Wednesday detectives from the Pacifica Police Department in collaboration with the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Serena Drive.

The search warrant was served as a result of an investigation into illegal narcotic activity.

"We won’t disclose the origin of our investigation other than we know there have been numerous complaints about suspicious activity at the residence," said Cap. Daniel Steidle with the Pacifica Police Department.

Arrested at the scene was Edson Redmond, 37, who was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for possession of a controlled (narcotic) substance for sale and child endangerment.

Given the protections afforded by the child endangerment charge, information about the children in the home will remain confidential.

The narcotic that was targeted and located at the residence was methamphetamine, said Steidle.

"The Pacifica Police Department understands the importance of eradicating this type of activity as well as suppressing the quality of life issues this problem presents in our neighborhoods," said Steidle.

Citizens are encouraged to contact the Pacific Police Department to report illegal drug activity at 650-738-7314.
