One in Custody, Two on the Loose After Overnight Strong-Armed Robberies

The two robberies are unrelated, police say.

Two suspects remain on the loose while another is in custody after two unrelated strong-armed robberies occurred last night, Pacifica Police Chief Jim Tasa said. 

At about 10p.m. yesterday evening, a 37-year-old Pacifica man was walking westbound on Glencourt Way near Glasgow Drive when he was confronted by two suspects walking behind him. 

The victim was tripped or pushed by one of the suspects and fell to the ground. One of the suspects then punched him multiple times in the face and head before making off with the victim's backpack.

The victim described the two suspects to police, Chief Tasa said.

One was a Hispanic male in his early twenties, approximately 5'10". He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The other was a male, race unknown, in his early 20s. He was also wearing black clothing. 

Later last night, at about 1:50a.m., responded to reports of a fight in progress at . 

When officers arrived, they found two men wrestling in the street outside the bar. The two men were detained and an investigation conducted, Chief Tasa said. 

Police discovered that one of the subjects, 21-year-old Oscar Robles, a parolee from Pacifica, had stolen a pair of eyeglasses off of the face of another man at the bar. 

The fight happened after Robles was confronted by the victim and another bar patron and refused to return the glasses, Chief Tasa said.

Robles was placed under arrest for robbery and other charges. He was transported to San Mateo County Jail after being treated for injuries sustained in the fight at San Mateo County General Hospital.
