Mountain Lion Spotted Early this Morning in Woodside

The second sighting in as many days.

A mountain lion was spotted early this morning in Woodside, the second such sighting to occur in the town in as many days, emergency officials said.

The cat was seen in the 200 block of Olive Hill Lane at about 7:05 a.m., according to the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.

A mountain lion was also seen early Sunday near Marva Oaks Drive, officials said.

Residents are advised not to approach mountain lions, and to avoid hiking or jogging at dawn, dusk and night, when the animals are most active.

In the case of a mountain lion encounter, emergency officials advise residents to try to appear large and make noise.
