Mercury: Drunk Pacifica Driver Responsible for Half Moon Bay Blaze, Authorities Say
39-year-old driver and his two passengers were injured in the crash. Burnham arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Authorities say a two-alarm fire in Half Moon Bay early Saturday morning was caused by a Pacifica man who was driving drunk when he crashed into a storage facility, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Matthew Burnham, 39, and his two passengers were injured in the crash, the Mercury reports. Burnham was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police arrested Burnham at Stanford Hospital, where he was being treated for fractured ribs and a ruptured spleen, the Mercury reports. One of his passengers suffered a ruptured spleen and had a “foreign object” in their eye, according to the Mercury report.
