At 6:44 p.m. Wednesday, six fire companies, two chief officers and one fire investigator responded to a report of a structure fire at 548 Palmetto Ave. in Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company reported a working fire inside the bathroom of the single family residence. Fire companies made entry into the home and using hose lines extinguished the fire, which was confined to the room of origin.
There were no injuries involved and crews remained on scene for approximately two hours, checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul.
Two adults and two children were displaced from the home and Red Cross was contacted to provide alternate living arrangements for the family.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
