UPDATED: Highway 92 Reopened After Overturned Big Rig Carrying Gravel Blocked Roadway

Traffic was slowed for nearly four hours.

The California Highway Patrol has reopened state Highway 92 in unincorporated San Mateo County after an overturned big-rig blocked traffic
east of Half Moon Bay for nearly four hours.

The big-rig, which was carrying a load of soil or gravel, overturned on its side on Highway 92 just west of Skyline Boulevard at about 8:15a.m., CHP Sgt. John Carman said.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, and the truck's load spilled into the westbound lanes, Carman said.

The CHP directed one-way traffic through the area until Caltrans crews cleared the roadway at about 11:45 a.m.

Traffic is creeping along Highway 92 this morning with only one lane open, five miles east of Half Moon Bay (Highway 92 at the junction with Skyline) due to an accident involving a big rig carrying gravel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
