Fire Crews Extinguish Two-Alarm Blaze in Daly City

First responder found a single-family residence engulfed in fire at about 8:30a.m. this morning.

The North County Fire Authority responded extinguished a two-alarm house fire in Daly City this morning.

At about 8:30a.m., the first responding fire company found a fully working fire in a two-story single-family residence at 256 Willits Street with heavy smoke and flames coming from all windows of the structure. He immediately called for backup and 10 fire companies, one breathing support unit, five chief officers, two fire investigators and an information officer responded to the scene.

Using hoses and ladders, crews were able to extinguish the blaze and keep it contained at the house of origin. When the fire began, two adults were inside the structure, but both safely evacuated, although one sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

“The fire was controlled quickly due to an aggressive fire attack with complete overhaul completed in approximately 4 hours,” said North County Fire Authority Spokesman Matt Lucett.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, he said.
