Update: Highway 1 Reopens After Mid-Day Closure Due To Downed Line

 State Highway 1 is shut down in both directions in Pacifica
because of a downed wire, California Highway Patrol Officer Eric Anderson
said.

The CHP received a report at about 10:50 a.m. that a power pole
was down along southbound Highway 1 just south of Manor Drive.

Crews are at the scene working to clear the roadway. No injuries have been reported.

Traffic is being rerouted off the highway through the Manor District.

State Highway 1 remains blocked in Pacifica this afternoon after stormy
weather caused a cable to fall across the roadway, a California Highway
Patrol officer said.

The CHP received a report of a downed utility pole on Highway 1 south of
Manor Drive at around 10:50 a.m., CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

When the pole toppled, a Comcast cable fell across the roadway, blocking
north- and southbound traffic, Anderson said.

Comcast crews are at the scene and the CHP anticipates having the roadway at
least partially cleared by about 1:30 p.m., Anderson said.

Update 2:40pm: 

State Highway 1 reopened in Pacifica this afternoon after a downed utility cable blocked traffic for more than three hours, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Comcast crews cleared the highway, and the road reopened just after 2 p.m., Anderson said.
