Daly City Residents Lose Home in Fire

The occupants of the home were displaced by the blaze and made arrangements to stay with their relatives, fire officials said.

By Bay City News Service:

Residents were displaced following a house fire in Daly City on Wednesday evening, fire officials said.

At about 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, firefighters responded to a report of a blaze at a single-family home on Lake Meadow Drive, about two blocks east of Thornton State Beach, North County fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived at the home and saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the second-story of the residence, fire officials said.

The occupants of the home evacuated prior to firefighters arriving at the scene and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.

Firefighters attacked the blaze from the interior and were able to stop the fire from spreading to the ground floor, according to fire officials.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and remained at the scene checking for further extension of fire and completing overhaul until shortly after 8 p.m., fire officials said.

The occupants of the home were displaced by the blaze and made arrangements to stay with their relatives, fire officials said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
