A Daly City man was ordered to stand trial on vehicular manslaughter and other charges in connection with a Memorial Day crash in Colma that killed three people, according to prosecutors.

Paul Michael Anthony Diaz, 25, was ordered to stand trial following a preliminary hearing before San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Marta Diaz on Thursday, according to prosecutors.

He faces three counts of vehicular manslaughter with intoxication and gross negligence and felony hit and run resulting in injury or death.

Diaz was allegedly driving a Ford Mustang that crashed at around 7:40 a.m. on May 27 in the 200 block of Hillside Drive, ejecting his three passengers, who were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mustang also struck a Honda, propelling it into a cement wall at the Cypress Lawn cemetery, but the driver of that vehicle was not seriously injured, police said.

The passengers were identified by the San Mateo County coroner's office as Rosa Maria Falla, 23, Jonathan Jade Mouton, 21, and Ruvin Abel Vasquez, 22, all of Daly City.

Falla is believed to have been in a dating relationship with Diaz. Police said Diaz was arrested later that afternoon when he turned himself in to police, nearly six hours after allegedly fleeing the scene on foot.
