City Manager Appoints New Pacifica Police Chief

Jim Tasa, the new chief, has over 28 years of experience on Pacifica's police force.

City Manager Stephen Rhodes officially announced this morning at 10a.m. that Pacifica Police Captain Jim Tasa would replace retiring Chief Jim Saunders effective July 8.

Rhodes cites Tasa's 28 years on the force, an awad he received from the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association for Police Officer of the Year and a Life Saving Medal he received from the Pacifica Police Department, along with coming from a family of law enforcements, as reasons for the promotion.

Tasa was chosen from four candidates for the position within the department.
