Car Theft Suspect Shows Up to Court Date... In a Stolen Car

Daly City police say the man is a long-time car thief with seven prior felony convictions.

By Bay City News Service:

Daly City police said a man facing a vehicle burglary charge drove to his court appearance earlier this month in a stolen car.

Timothy Frederick Knight, 53, who arrived for a court appearance on April 3 to face a possession of a stolen car charge, is now also facing a second theft charge, according to the police department.

Knight remains in custody on $65,000 bail for the first charge and $100,000 for the most recent charge.

Police said Knight, a long-time car thief with seven prior felony convictions, stole a Honda Accord on April 2 and drove the stolen vehicle to his court appearance the next day.

Police said they found the car parked on the street, placed a tracker on it and "swooped in" to arrest Knight as he drove away from the courthouse.
