5-Year-Old Boy Struck By a Car in Pacifica Sustains Major Injuries

A 5-year-old Pacifica boy is in the hospital with major injuries after being hit by a car last Friday afternoon, police said.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. officers to a report that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the 1100 block of Rosita Road.

Upon arrival, officers located the boy in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle. The child was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The preliminary investigation into the incident indicates that the child entered the roadway between parked vehicles, not a crosswalk, police said.

The speed of the vehicle does not appear to be a factor in this incident, according to police.

The investigation into this collision is continuing and is being conducted by traffic collision investigators from the Pacifica Police Department CRASH Team.
