Officer J. Aranda, Pacifica PD

My uber driver was pulled over by him tonight, he was lying saying the driver was doing 20mph down the 1 and was swerving on fassler. First off, I'd have been screaming at a driver doing 20mph down the 1.

Frustrated because as residents here I fear for myself and my kids if our police officers are liars. Their job is to uphold the law, not harass clearly marked livery vehicles with paying passengers (who pay to not drive intoxicated) and lie about reasons. If you've had experiences with officers in Pacifica with no honor or honesty I'd like to know.

Your comment seems disjointed and rambling. Perhaps your driving was erratic as well, thus necessitating a stop. We should be thankful for peace officers who err on the side of public safety and protect us from bad drivers. If that rookie is reading these comments, job well done!

I do not understand any of this. What's an "uber" driver? It's a German word for "over" or "beyond" which indicates that the driver was driving beyond his/her capabilities? Over the speed limit? What does Hwy. 1 have to do with Nebraska?

Oh Rebecca, I'm guessing there's lots you don't understand.

I do not know the name of the officer who pulled me over but it was rather embarrassing being pulled over two blocks from my home in front of my neighbors, when I had done nothing wrong. The officer collected my license, registration, etc. & proceeded to treat me as if I were a criminal. I did not know why he pulled me over until he had satisfied himself that I was not a criminal and that my car was not stolen. He then proceeded to tell me that I was pulled over for making an unsafe left turn. When I questioned his reasons he said that I had made an unsafe left turn in front of him and that neighbors had been complaining of speeders in that intersection. I told him that I had not impeded his speed at all - that I had seen him approx. 3 houses back from where I was turning and I figured him being a cop - he would be doing the posted speed limit of 25, so I had plenty of time for my turn. He then said that it really not a safe move especially with a young child in my car...that's when it really got weird...I was alone in the car. When I pointed to the empty passenger seat, he was surprised to see it was empty. I don't know what he was thinking or doing at the time of my left turn, but paying attention surely wasn't it. At that point (after 15 minutes) he finally let me go. While I cannot say I have never had a ticket - it has been over 25 years since I had a moving violation and I can say that I've never had a ticket in a residential neighborhood.
