Pacifica's Finest!
Friday mid-morning. I just returned from knee surgery.  I hadn't had anything to eat or drink for 15 hours, and told my driving wife to go to Linda Mar Center.  She defied that, and pulled into the Crespi turn lane.  So, I got out and walked  to Linda Mar Blvd.  (And later, home:  1 1/2 miles instead of 10 feet).  Approaching the coffee shop, I was intercepted by Officer Lots.  He couldn't think of any law I was violating or any charges to file.  But he complained that I hadn't put my hands down and threatened me with handcuffing.  The thought of a slight 79-year old man assaulting him must have brought fear and trepidation in large measure.  He didn't like my hands on my head, prisoner style.  So, to make certain that he felt safe, I laid down on Denny's grass and proceeded to read my book.  He soon heard from his partner that nothing had taken place, so he went off to look for jaywalkers (of which he had also accused me).  Evidently applicants no longer have to pass an IQ test. --- Dan Robinson, Linda Mar
