Pacifica Woman Dies at 88, Never Passed Up Admiring the Coastline

Some of the people with ties to Pacifica who passed away recently.

Annamarie Weber, a 40-year resident of Pacifica, immigrated to the United States from West Germany after surviving World War II. She is survived by five of her six children and was the proud "Oma" to 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a 15-year employee of the Mervyn's Department Store in Millbrae. She was known for her baking, love of chocolate and having a beautiful voice. She could recall most operas and hum along to classical pieces. While driving down Highway 1 in to Pacifica, she never passed up an opportunity to admire the coastline, and enjoyed the view of the green hills from her bedroom window. One of her regrets was not having given herself the pleasure of beach combing more often on Linda Mar Beach. She died at the age of 88 on Oct. 25, 2013.

Theodore John (Ted) Van Bebber was born June 24, 1930 in Willits, California and was raised by his grandparents Charles and Nina Van Bebber. He graduated from Willits High School in 1948 and was drafted into the Army shortly thereafter. He was assigned to the 59th Company where he worked as Military Police and within two years was promoted to Sergeant. During his two years of service, he was stationed in Korea. Ted returned from the military and graduated from Golden Gate College in 1958 with a degree in Accounting. In April of 1959 he married the love of his life, Sharon Diane Hussey, and had four children. They lived in San Francisco, Pacifica and finally settled in Marin County. He liked to travel, was an avid gardener, enjoyed genealogy and loved his country. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family on Nov. 5, 2013 in San Rafael.
