Caltrain SILENT on Most Serious Incident in History

Caltrain has been silent on their error and have gone as far as modifying their website and the twitter post of a passenger, saved on this article.

Caltrain was silent for 22 days on human error of two engineers.

Both engineers are currently on leave one of them tested positive for marijuana. On August 24, 2012 at 8:25AM at the SSF station, the northbound train stopped and let some passengers off who started to cross the southbound tracks only to discover the southbound express upon them at a speed of 76 MPH with no warning.  Some people had to jump for their lives.  Caltrain has a safety policy of look both ways and I think this was an extreme and  perfect example. They also managed to keep this out of every newspaper in San Mateo County until this last Saturday.  I think we all deserve an answer as to how did not one newspaper covered this. Michael Scanlon is the Executive Director of Caltrain.

A passenger writes on Facebook:

"If you're familiar with the South City Station, you'll know that passengers of Northbound trains have to cross over the Southbound train tracks to get to the platform.  Well, this morning as the Northbound train was letting passengers disembark and come aboard, a Southbound train comes blazing by, blowing it's horn.  Some passengers waiting to load the Northbound train were stuck between the two trains. A very harrowing experience for those outside the train and people steps away from exiting the train onto those very tracks.  Luckily no one was hurt.  I'm not sure how close other passengers came to the moving train at the other exits, but I know the two at the exit I was at were shaken up."

A passenger writes on twitter:

"OK, southbound train I'm on almost ran into northbound train on the same track we're on. Way to wake us up this morning, #caltrain!"

Statement of this incident being the worst close call in history comes from SF Bay article.

Bren, No need to vent your pent up anger at white people. Your statement is a perfect example ofRead More reverse racism. We live in an country where there are different races and different languages but the native language is English and to omit that language from any sign that was paid for by tax payers is a slap in the face. This has nothing to do with demographics or race wars. Take a step back, breath, and stop spreading your hate rhetoric.
