Monday, June 25

A National Research Council study paints a of the impact of climate change on areas of coastal California such as Pacifica, the Associated Press reports.   

The warming ocean waters and the melting polar ice caps will have a measurable impact on the West Coast, with sea levels rising as much as a half foot by 2030 and three feet by the end of the century, according the NRC report.

A Pacifica man on Monday to charges of drunk driving his 2011 Cadillac through a chain link fence and into a Princeton warehouse, injuring himself and two passengers.

The car engine ignited into a blaze that subsequently caused a two-alarm fire involving commercial storage units, officials said.

 

Wednesday, June 27

A Pacifica woman charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a taxi driver during a bizarre carjacking incident earlier this year was on Tuesday.

A San Mateo County criminal court judge committed Amanda Jenille Aldeguer, 21 to the custody of Napa State Hospital, where she is subject to forced medication if necessary until she is ready to participate in her own defense.

 

Thursday, June 28

The Cooking Channel of about 10 to on a packed Saturday, four days after the restaurant’s opening. The crews spent the entire weekend filming the new Pacifica hot spot.

The restaurant will be featured on "Man, Food & Fire," a program that launches later this year on The Cooking Channel.

 

Friday, June 29

Over 90 percent of the 70 California state parks originally targeted for closure Sunday will , state parks officials told the Sacramento Bee on Thursday.

Portola Redwoods State Park had found funding earlier in the week and will be joined on the saves list by Candlestick Point State Recreation Area, Gray Whale Cove State Beach and Castle Rock State Beach among local beaches.
