Tour Des Fleur This Saturday
You must buy your tickets in advance for the behind-the-scenes tours of our flower growing operations.
Jaw dropping. The value of flower and nursery stock agriculture in San Mateo County is nearly $126 million, according to the San Mateo County 2009 Annual Agricultural Crop Report. As anyone who drives Highway 92 or Highway 1 knows, much of that is Coastside in our fog-shrouded climate.
If you've always wanted to go behind-the-scenes of some of these operations to see how dahlias, roses and other floral plants are grown-- your opportunity is coming this Saturday. Half Moon Bay is holding its annual Tour Des Fleurs, with six tour packages available.
While flowers are the centerpiece, various tours also take in goat cheese farms, a working pier, grass-fed livestock, organic vegetables, and more. Each tour includes three locations, with each stop about one hour.

Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance.
Tour Des Fleurs is sponsored by the Half Moon Bay Coastside Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Bureau.
