Trails Brushing to Keep Lines of Sight Clear For All Trails Users

One of the banes of trails users encounters is the surprise interaction.
Most of the time, when out recreating, one expects to encounter others on the dirt paths.
Sometimes, when due care isn't practiced, surprises can happen.
We Linda Mar Mt Bike trails riders spend dozens of volunteer hrs a year clearing lines of sight along high use trails corridors.
Utilizing brush cutters+clippers, the scotch broom is our main target.
This invasive species is pervasive along the Old San Pedro rd and many of the dirt paths above Devils Slide, and if left unchecked, cuts down on the lines of sight very rapidly.
Every Earth Day, local Pacifica Mt Bike riders join with the Pacifica Beach Coalition to not only pick up trash along Higgins Way, but brush back the Old San Pedro rd to preserve these very important lines of sight along this heavily used recreational route.
So next time your up on the Old San Pedro rd,don't be afraid to bring clippers along with you+trim back the yellow flowering Scotch Broom plants.
