Pacifica Beach Coalition gathers Earth Heroes for Earth Day Planning meeting

Pacifica Beach Coalition gathers Earth Heroes for Earth Day Planning meeting   The Pacifica Beach Coalition is gearing up for another successful Earth Day on Saturday, April 20th and we want everyone to take part.  Stakeholders (PBC, school, community, city, business, organization members and other Earth heroes) met Tuesday evening Feb 5th to brainstorm new ideas and inform everyone about the upcoming Earth Day plans, introduce everyone to each other, and get everybody dreaming, collaborating, and planning their teams actions for this powerful Pacifica day.    The next Stakeholders meeting will be Tuesday, March 5th at 7pm and all interested group/civic leaders, community members, and interested volunteers are invited to join us.    This year Earth Day is dedicated to the sharks off our coast, and all sharks because like the Sea Turtles, they are being challenged toward extinction. The following link has more information about Sharks in Peril:  http://www.projectaware.org/project/sharks-peril    The Pacifica Beach Coalition will be having shark specialist, David McGuire, speak at Earth Day and to general assemblies of our local students prior to Earth Day.  He is a marine biologist, ocean advocate, and founder of Sea Stewards (www.seastewards.org).  "Because sharks are critical for Ocean Health, Sea Stewards is dedicated to protecting sharks and ecoystems through banning the shark fin trade, shark finning and increasing better fishing policy and marine habitat management."  SeaStewards.org is a great site to visit and learn more about ocean advocacy through their Healthy Ocean Initiatives and other fascinating information.  What will you do for Earth Day?
