From tree lightings and Santa sightings to wreath making and holiday boutiques, we've compiled a list so you can plan ahead.

Have your calendar at the ready, as you'll want to make note of many of these holiday events taking place in Pacifica. Events are listed in chronological order. Click on the event headline for more information.


Small Business Saturday at Rockaway Beach
, Nov. 30

Stop by Rockaway Beach on November 30th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and do your part to help make this Small Business Saturday one of the biggest shopping days of the year for small businesses.

Pacifica Senior Services’ 7th Annual 2013 Meals on Wheels Gift Basket Fundraiser, Dec. 6-9

Proceeds to benefit Pacifica’s Meals on Wheels. Baskets will be displayed for silent auction bids at the Pacifica Community Center, 540 Crespi Dr. starting on Friday, December 6th at the Holiday Tree Lighting and Elf Market, 5:30—9pm and continuing through Monday, Dec. 9. Last bids at 4pm on Monday, Dec. 9. All proceeds from the auction will be used for the Meals on Wheels “A Night Out on the Town” event to take place in Feb. 2013. Madrigalli Market, Dec. 6 & 7

The 7th annual Madrigalli Market features  local artists presenting their ceramics, jewelry, encaustic painting, felted accessories, clothing and Mexican Folk Art. Live music, wine tasting by A Grape in the Fog, and gourmet treats available. Proceeds benefit the Pedro Point Firehouse Playground. 1227 Danmann Ave.

Holiday Tree Lighting, Dec. 6

Join your friends and family to celebrate the annual lighting of the community holiday tree at 5:30 p.m. it'll be an evening of fun, featuring the Cabrillo School 4th and 5th Grade Chorus, refreshments and a visit from Santa. This annual tradition has continued since the 1990s. 540 Crespi Drive.

Holiday Extravaganza!, Dec. 6 & 7

Shop the Elf Market, Pacifica’s very own unique craft fair, 6,  6 to 9 pm and Saturday, Dec. 7,  10 am to 4 pm. Shop for holiday gifts handcrafted by local artists and community organizations. Make a gingerbread house and visit with Santa at Santa’s Workshop, Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 am to 2 pm, co-sponsored by Oceana Market. For $5 at the door, kids get to make a gingerbread house from scratch and using real frosting. Also, kids can do a holiday craft and visit with Santa. 540 Crespi Drive.

4th Annual Charlie Brown Tree and Wreath-Making Event, Dec. 7

The Pacifica Land Trust invites you to come play in nature, kick off the holidays and enjoy the 4th Annual Charlie Brown Tree and Wreath-Making event. This year, because of all your help since 2010, the little Charlie Brown trees are either too little, too big or too sparse for most homes. If you find one that is just right, you are welcome to cut it down or plant a new “tree” (native plant or grass) to help the headlands. There will be pine cones, plenty of greens, a collection of natural materials for your nature-inspired Charlie Brown wreath/swag/holiday decor creations and a helping hand should you want it.  Holiday carolers, hot cider and refreshments, Charlie Brown trees, and white elephant surprise gifts.

Art Guild of Pacifica Galleria at Sanchez Art Center, Dec. 7–8 & Dec. 14–15, 1–5 pm

Each year, Art Guild of Pacifica (AGP) rings in the holiday season with an open house art event at Sanchez Art Center, offering a wide variety of art options for those who seek unique and reasonably priced gift options. 220 Linda Mar Boulevard.

3rd Annual Rockaway Beach Tree Lighting Ceremony, Dec. 8

The Merchants at Rockaway Beach and the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce will host another spectacular tree lighting. The event will run from 4-7 pm. This is a free event that people of all ages will enjoy. Pictures with Santa, ponies, a tree lighting, face painting, a bouncy castle, lots of music, refreshments and more. Several Rockaway Beach Merchants will be open for business as well. A free cable car will transport those parked at the Pacifica Community parking lot to and from Rockaway Beach.

Pacifica Mother's Club Holiday Boutique Fundraiser, Dec. 15

Skip the crowds at the mall and shop local. Pacifica Mothers Club is holding its first ever Holiday Boutique and Fundraiser, open to the public. Funds raised benefit adopting a Pacifica family this holiday season.  
20 vendors - there's sure to be something for everyone on your list. Raffle Prizes donated by the vendors. At Eureka Square, Pacifica.

The American Legion Post 238 Holiday DinnerDec. 25

The American Legion Post 238 in Pacifica is sponsoring a Holiday Dinner for Veterans. There are many Veterans in the area who spend the Holiday by themselves and we would like them to have dinner with us, their family of fellow Veterans. You and a guest are invited to join us on Christmas Day at 2 pm at the American Legion Hall located at 555 Buel Avenue in Pacifica. Space is limited so call to reserve your spot today. We are also looking for volunteers and donations to help with the event. If you would like to join us for dinner, volunteer or make a donation, please contact Charles Sorenson at 650-438-9082 (cell).
