4 Can't Miss Halloween Events This Weekend

Halloween fun can be found in abundance this weekend, from family events to an adult costume party.

While Halloween is still more than a week away, the fun has already begun. You can carve pumpkins, get a free pumpkin or head to a winery for a costume party.

1. Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival

This is the Grand Champion Halloween festival. There’s the Great Pumpkin Parade, a Haunted House, expert pumpkin carver Farmer Mike sculpting a monster 1,000+ pound pumpkin, pie-eating and costume contests, pumpkin carving for fun, tons of food and beverages, arts and crafts, live entertainment—and the list goes on. Saturday and Sunday in Half Moon Bay.

2. Halloween Treats at Pacifica Community Center 

This class focuses on preparing Halloween-themed edible treats, followed by an art project. $5 fee to instructor at class. On Monday, Oct. 21 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm for ages 3.5 to 7. The Pacifica Community Center is located at 540 Crespi Dr. in Pacifica. Price Resident: $30.00 Non-resident: $35.00.

3. The Prudential Pumpkin Patch

The Prudential California Realty-San Bruno Pumpkin Patch is giving away pumpkins, one per group, while supplies last. Besides pumpkins, they’re giving away hot dogs, popcorn and candy, offering face painting and picture taking. Saturday in San Bruno.

4. Halloween Fright Night in the Cellar

If you’re looking for some Halloween fun for grown-ups, check out this event in San Carlos at Domenico Winery. Be sure to wear your best costume for the contest. Saturday night in San Carlos.
