'Live the Good Life' This Weekend at Pacific Coast TV's Auction

The event raises funds to support the Coast's non-profit community TV station.

It's a big weekend for Pacifica Coast TV (PCT) based on Crespi Drive in Pacifica.

It's the organization's major fundraiser, The Coast Life TV Auction, taking place this Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 11 p.m. on PCT Channel 26 Pacifica/27 Coastside (Comcast Cable) or streaming live at www.PacificCoast.tv.

PCT is "your community voice" which gives local residents technology training (TV, radio, Internet) and use of their equipment and studio facilities to share news and culture about California's Pacific coast.

For the past 20 years PCT has hosted an auction, raising up to $17K for the station in year's past. Funds go to support PCT, "America's longest running non-profit community TV station!" said Marty Anaya, executive director at Pacific Coast Television. Proceeds allow PCT to train the community how to create their own media and tell their own stories.

"Forget Black Friday and forget the long lines. Instead, do your holiday shopping locally and support local businesses this weekend. Plus, enjoy amazing local entertainment all from the comfort of your home," said Anaya.

What's new this year are the "amazing number of items including vacations to New York, Orlando and amazing items like autographed Willie Mays and Frank Sinatra memorobillia," said Anaya.

Participants can also bid on a trip to Cabo San Lucas or a Carlos Santa autographed guitar.

PCT is also looking for volunteers to be guest phone operators. It's an auction so the phone operators answer the calls from bidders. Call Linda Gilbraith, phone bank coordinator, at 438-0619.

"Folks should be proud to support such a community institution," said Anaya.
