Envisioning the Future of San Mateo County

The League of Women Voters of North and Central San Mateo County and the San Mateo branch of
the American Association of University Women
are sponsoring a public
meeting addressing the changing demographics of San Mateo County. They
have invited three civic leaders to participate in a panel discussion
on "Envisioning the Future of
San Mateo County"
.  The
panel will be composed of Carole Groom,
San Mateo County Supervisor, Adrienne
Etherton
, Executive Director of Sustainable San Mateo County, and Lee Michelson, CEO of the Sequoia
Healthcare District.  Among the subjects that will be discussed are:  San Mateo County's
aging population.  Lack of
affordable housing for workers who wish to live near their jobs.  Diverse makeup of the workers and their
families.  Effect of the recently
approved Plan Bay Area on the county.
