Champions "A Vintage Romance Novel" Closing Reception

Art@AGITF and artist, Elizabeth Marshall, invites you to the Closing Reception for Champions "Vintage Romance Novel."

You'll enjoy music by DJ Robski and drink specials all night including
our featured Cava cocktail - inspired by a Vintage Romance Novel.

Artist Statement:

Everyone is a champion – sometimes in one's own mind. Champion means

the victor in a challenge and we have all been there, sometimes in small
ways and other times by overcoming large obstacles in our lives. Some
days one is a champion just for getting
out of bed, other days we perform for our loved ones in ways only they
see, and achieve respect and appreciation from those for whom it means
so much.
How and when one measures success can be done on a daily
basis in the form of sticking to a schedule or being on time, and also
over a great deal of time – such as sticking with a job or having a long
relationship. Every day, every person is a champion.
Inspired by
vintage romance novels from the 50’s and 60’s, these works on canvas
tell the stories of champions, which are open for interpretation as to

the challenge overcome. The images depicted are meant to conjure up
ideas about the stories behind adversity and success. Hopefully the
viewer will reflect on their own experiences and think how they are
champions for having dealt with challenge and change.
