A New Year's Day Run For a Healthy 2014 in Pacifica

As January 1st approaches, the thoughts of New

Year’s resolutions ring through our heads.  What will it be this year?  Lose weight?

Stop smoking?  Eat

healthier?  Spend more quality time

with the kids?  Why not start the

year out doing something that can help accomplish all those resolutions and

more?

At 10 a.m. on Wednesday Pacifica Runners will be presenting

the April’s Yoga and Pilates Studio New Year’s Day 5k and Kids’ Run.  Runners will start with a warm up

stretch session led by April at the south end of Rockaway Beach (the bottom of

the Linda Mar switchbacks).

This is a run/walk suitable for all levels and all

ages.  There will be 5-year-olds

trying to win it and 50-year-olds happy to walk it.  This run/walk will take you out past Nick’s and along the

ocean.  While we anticipate a

chill, the sun usually warms us along the way (and we will go on rain or shine).  Participants will then continue along the Quarry path

up along Route 1 and out onto the Mori Point path.  At 1.55 miles, they’ll turn around and come back.  This is where you get to root on

other runners/walkers on your way back to the start!  There will be a water stop along the way.
