Who's Giving What: A Look at Measure V Campaign Contributions

Both the supporters of Measure V and its opponents filed updated campaign contribution statements with the Pacifica City Clerk last week.

Measure V is the Pacifica ballot measure that asks voters to approve including telecommunications in the city's Utility User Tax. The city expects to generate $1,075,000 a year from the expansion of the UUT.

Currently, residents pay 6.5 percent of their utility bills to the city. The measure, if it passes the November ballot, would add 6.5 percent of what residents pay for cell phones, land lines, data streaming services, texting and voice over Internet protocol.
To date, Measure V supporters have raised more campaign funds — up to $28K with expenditures of $6,821 — than opponents.Pacifica Taxpayers Against Measure V
