Water Main Break in Montara Affecting Dozens of Customers

A local contractor appears to have broken it.

A broken water main in Montara has interrupted water service to a few dozen customers, San Mateo County emergency officials said. 

A local contractor appears to have accidentally ruptured a water main in the northwestern part of town, disrupting the water supply to between 35 and 50 customers, emergency officials said.

Most of the affected homes and businesses are on Third Street between state Highway 1 and Farallone Avenue.

Crews from the Montara Water and Sanitary District are making repairs and expect to have the water supply back within four to six hours, county officials said.
