Spare the Air Day Declared for Tuesday

Residents are urged to limit driving on Tuesday.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has declared Tuesday a Spare the Air Day.

Concentrations of ground-level ozone pollution are expected to be unhealthy on Tuesday. That coupled with hot temperatures and light winds will combine to likely produce poor air quality for the Bay Area.

Tips to help prevent smog:

- Carpool or vanpool with friends or co-workers
- Take public transportation
- Telecommute -- work from home instead of driving to work
- Link necessary trips and postpone errands if possible
