A 70-year-old San Francisco man who was found dead on a boat off the Santa Cruz coast Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Dennis Fox, according to the Santa Cruz County coroner's office.
Fox had left aboard a 40-foot fishing boat named "Sunrise" from Half Moon Bay on July 25.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday, Fox was reported overdue, prompting a search mission to find him. A helicopter crew and a 47-foot lifeboat from U.S. Coast Guard Station Monterey responded and discovered the boat about 20 miles southwest of Santa Cruz.
