Police Calls: Neighbor Threatens to Take Real Estate Appraiser’s Camera

Selected highlights from the July 20-21 Pacifica Police log includes early-morning basketball games, abandoned vehicles, and threatening phone calls.

Sunday, July 21

Suspicious circumstances

  • 2:03 a.m., Monterey Road and Waterford St.; two loud explosions heard in the area, possibly from Waterford Street. Police investigated, nothing found. Log note only.

  • 12:37 a.m., Nelson Avenue; investigation of a report of cars parked on the street with loud music inside and outside. Log note only.
  • 2:11 a.m., Nelson Avenue; investigation of a car alarm going off because of nearby fireworks; subject wearing a white T-shirt and baseball cap was rude when confronted. Log note only.
  • 2:21 a.m., Imperial Drive; reporting party said mother is yelling at out of control; no weapons found. Log note only.
  • 3:12 a.m., Aurora Court and Berendos Avenue; reporting party complained about subjects playing basketball outside on Aurora Court. Subjects gone on arrival.
  • 12:32 p.m., Linda Mar Boulevard; complaint about three women and two men screaming and fighting outside; group disbursing on police arrival. Log note taken.

Miscellaneous

  • 12:54 p.m., Terra Nova Boulevard; reporting party asked police to talk to kids riding motorized scooters on pathways. Subjects gone when police arrived.  
  • 4 p.m., Lerida Way and Crespi Drive; report about two juveniles riding a dirt bike fast up Lerida Way sidewalk. Subjects were gone when officers arrived.
  • 4:47 p.m., Pedro Point on Grand Avenue at Cabrillo Highway; citizen complained about receiving threatening phone calls. Report taken.
  • 9:18 p.m., Beach Boulevard; reporting party saw five subjects with buckets of crabs and believed they were poaching as it’s not crab season. Log note only.

Saturday, July 20

Abandoned vehicles

  • 4:04 a.m., Talbot Avenue; black Mercedes parked on the street for three weeks; warning given.
  • 4:09 a.m., Lakeview Avenue; reporting party said a green Nissan Altima was parked on the street for seven days, and a blue Nissan Quest minivan parked on street for six days. Both vehicles gone when police arrived.
  • 4:17 a.m., Miller Avenue; a blue two-door Ford Thunderbird was reported to be parked on the street for more than a month. Citation issued.

Miscellaneous

  • 7:18 a.m., Hickey Boulevard; reporting party said a front window of a business was broken overnight. Report taken.
  • 8:14 a.m., Cabrillo Highway and Crespi Drive; southbound vehicle accident with no injuries; both vehicles parked on the side of the road partially in lane traffic. Officers abated the situation and advised the parties.
  • 11:19 a.m., Inverness and Forest Lake drives; found illegal dumping of sundry items on the sidewalk, no suspect information. Referred to Public Works Department.
  • 3:45 p.m., Salada Avenue; a real estate appraiser taking property photos reported a neighbor threatened to take her camera. Subject was gone when police arrived.
  • 6:38 p.m., Chico Court and Escalero Avenue; report of a child racing a mini-bike up and down the street and not wearing a helmet. Log note only.
  • 8:01 p.m., Avalon Drive; report of two occupants living in a vehicle. Citation issued.
