Patch Gets a Facelift

Let us know how you like it.

Watch for it, watch for it! A Patch facelift!

Patch is looking different today, and we hope you’ll find us better looking than ever.

We did a quick visual nip-and-tuck to the homepage to make it even more user-friendly. And we've moved a couple pieces of furniture. For those keeping score:

  • We tweaked some words in our navigation bar to save space (e.g., "Traffic & Gas" is now "Commute")
  • We moved the weather icon next to the Patch branding so you can find it more quickly!
  • We moved, well, YOU closer to the top! (Our "shout stream" is now front and center to show all your comments off.)
  • And of course we prettified a few things.

While the site might have a new "nose job" of sorts, we still offer the same robust coverage of everything happening in Pacifica. That was, is, and will always be our mission.

We hope you'll let us know what you think of our tweaks—drop us a line or offer a comment below!

Can we get more coverage on the Coastal Commission.. and WHY Are they blocking us from collecting parking fees at the beach?

Oops! Fixed.

I miss the comments that were listed on the right side of the page.

Me, too.

But, I guess they come up in the top middle now.

Just beginning to figure out the new page still not sure I like it. Change just for change sake?
Charles Dodgson March 30, 2012 at 03:43 AM
Yeah, but it requires lots of slow scrolling now.

One thing I really miss is the ability to make general comments on the home page.

Agree. A "general" comment box, not attached to an article was a nice to have. I also preferred the calendar top - middle and the comments to the right side... how it was prior to the flip flop. Might just take some time to adjust.
