Highway 1 Lane Closure Starts Tonight, Little Notice Given

Caltrans has given no notice other than roadside signs. The construction will last until May 4.

Two signs along Highway 1, one just north of Crespi Drive in Pacifica and one near Devil's Slide, warn motorists of impending construction on the roadway.

The work, according to the signs, will happen each night from 8p.m. until 6a.m. starting tonight, last unil May 4 and will result in a lane closure and one-way traffic control.

The southbound sign, near Crespi Drive, warns of the construction but not the lane closure. The northbound sign on Devil's Slide, mentiones the lane closure.

Caltrans did not send out a notice to traffic information sources or the media, and the construction is not posted on its website.

Pacifica Patch reader Tim Yagle in an email this afternoon said he'd contacted several media organizations and checked the 511.org website, but found nothing.

"Why don't any credible government or media websites know about it?" he asked.
