Fund Set Up For Cremation of a Former Pacifica Resident and Her Son

Ashes of Ann Marie Miller and her son who were killed in a car crash last week in Yolo County will be scattered at Rockaway Beach.

Rita Prichard of Pacifica is helping raise funds for a family who cannot afford the cost to cremate their 39-year-old daughter and 14-year-old grandson, who died in a fatal car crash in Yolo County last week.

Reyes Barajas, 46, of Redwood City was at the wheel during the Sept. 3 accident, which took the life of former Pacifica resident Ann Marie Miller, his wife, and Marco Barajas, his son, according to an article posted today on mercurynews.com. On Friday the Yolo County District Attorney's Office charged Barajas with murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Prichard, a close friend to the family, says Miller's parents don't have the means to pay the $2,800 cost to cremate their daughter.

The mother and son's ashes are planned to be scattered at Rockaway Beach in Pacifica, where Miller's family lived when she was a child, said Prichard in the Mercury News article.

Contributions can be sent to the Ann and Marco Barajas fund, Account No. 60850465, Wells Fargo Bank, 1380 Linda Mar Shopping Center, Pacifica, CA 94044. Money can also be sent electronically from other bank branches or online using the account number.
