Fund for Keith Coffey Raises Money for His Family

Online fundraiser will help cover funeral costs for 'the most charming, funniest, kindhearted guy that Pacifica had.'

Even when we’re gone, the best of us still get by with a little help from our friends.

Such is the case for Pacifica resident Keith Coffey, who unexpectedly died last week in a random act of violence.

Coffey's friend Veronika Volok wants Pacifica residents to know that there’s a way to celebrate his life and help out his family.

She’s raising money through an online fundraiser for Coffey’s family “during these hard times,” she said. “We want to say goodbye one last time.”

No one saw it coming when Coffey's life was taken so soon at the hand of another man. Now his family and friends are in shock, left grieving a loss so tremendous, trying to make sense of this tragedy that has affected an entire community and come up with thousands of dollars to pay for a funeral.

“Funerals are not cheap, and we all want to give our last good byes,” said Volok. “This is our chance to do it now and do it right.”

Volok started the Keith Coffey Fund as a way to get everyone involved who can't be in Pacifica but still want to show their support for Coffey and help out his family.

“I am not in any way, shape, or form, making any profits from this. I am only trying to get the community together and remember the most charming, funniest, kindhearted guy that Pacifica had,” said Volok.

All money raised will go to Coffey’s family and be used to cover funeral costs. The goal is to raise $5,000.

“Even if we don't reach our goal, the money will still be going to Keith's family, because anything and everything helps,” said Volok.
