Chinese Restaurant Shut Down for Health Violations

The presence of vermin, rodents, insects, or animals prompted the San Mateo County Health System to close a Daly City restaurant.

Lily Cafe on Junipero Serra Boulevard in Daly City has been closed due to alleged health violations.

The San Mateo County Health System closed the facility on Friday, June 14, because the Chinese food restaurant failed to correct major violations of the California Retail Food Code (CalCode) and are closed due to these violations.

According to the health department, the reason for the closure was the presence of vermin, rodents, insects, birds or animals.

The restaurant has been out of compliance in the past, violating sanitation, food storage and clean surface codes.

San Mateo County Environmental Health requires that all retail food facilities have one inspection annually.
