Caltrans Highway 1 Construction Delayed... Again

Second delay in the project that will require one-way traffic control on Highway 1.

Caltrans announced today that half a mile south of Linda Mar Boulevard on Highway 1 would be delayed for a second time.

The agency's reason for postponing construction until Aug. 22 should please drivers, however. Instead of two weeks (weekends excluded) of one-way traffic control, Caltrans now anticipates it will only need five days to build a retaining wall and repair a portion of Highway 1 susceptible to rockslides.

Caltrans will implement the one-way traffic control from 7a.m. until 3p.m. Monday, Aug. 22 through Thursday, Aug. 25, and from 7a.m. until 2p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26.
