2.9-Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Bay Area

The 'quake's epicenter was two miles southwest of San Francisco Zoo.

The United States Geological Survey reported an earthquake occurring at 12:19 Tuesday morning about 2 miles southwest of the San Francisco Zoo.

The quake registered at a 2.9 magnitude, the USGS reported. Its depth was 4.2 miles.

It was felt throughout San Francisco and the Peninsula.
