A Little Help, Please: When No One Feels Like Cooking Dinner

Call for weekday take-out dinner ideas for $20 in Our Little Town or fringe.

I am SO lucky to have a husband that hates my cooking. Did I mention he's fully qualified to shop and cook, and has my full support (and appetitie) when he does so? Of course, I do a lot of dishes here, but hey - works for me!

Lately, with all the hoo-haw of life, he has not felt so much like cooking and remains opposed to my gender-specific predisposition to go into the kitchen and valiantly attempt to please him (really I do), but no...he says to me, and more often it would seem, "Let's get take out."

I lived in San Francisco for ten years, and eating out and fast is an art form there - even more now with the gourmet foodtrucks and iPhone apps allowing you to find them in a jiffy. We had a routine, knew the ropes to the day-of-the-week ( is closed on Tuesdays here, btw), peak traffic patterns and just "how full" we could get on what and for how much. However, with all due (and essential) respect to the local businesses of Pacifica, I need a brick-and-mortar route spiff-up here...

I'm hoping a thread of ideas will sprout below to share how YOUR family deals with dinner - fast - and without a "splurge". We made a return to our former date-night spot last night ( in Manor) and while delish (Calamari - yum)....we need some NEW ideas for this crew.

So - do tell - where do YOU go for a weekday dinner for -  literally -  "FAST food" keeping a budget of $20, eating pretty healthy,  and what do you get for your investment in our communiity?
